but happenings like cream and sugar extras

piling on your table, so much so, and this

morning, really, what’s as simple as water,

but clocks having been reversed,

boots on the rug, once laughing

and repeated again. all this –

pillows thought backwards

down the spiral stairs

stone

sun on a rock feels wrong. sun passes over stones at a quarry, in theory, stones could be in the summer sun for fifteen hours a day. (to let a stone feel sun). feel to the stones in shadow all day. feel to the stones that rolled themselves under a bush (there must be some moment in a year when a ray touched you, like a mosquito, and you shunned away). to the stones that rolled themselves into the quarry, the bottom so cloudy and unfathomable, how does light reach you but through the whips and whispers of light reflected on seaweed. stones that humans threw, either in contempt or in curiosity – how deep are you? something made you stone.
